40th Birth Anniversary of AGE CARE India
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan addressed the 40th Anniversary and Veterans Day celebrations of AGE-CARE India on 4 April 2021 at the India International Center in Delhi.
He honored the Padma Shri Award with Professor (Dr.) JS Guleria, and Senior Consultant of Internal Medicine, Dr. G. P. Seth honored with the “Most Eminent Senior Citizen” award.
Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanti: April 5
April 5, 2021 is celebrated as the 114th birth anniversary of freedom fighter and Dalit icon, Jagjivan Ram.
Jagjivan Ram was known as Babuji.
He has a world greatest of being an MP for 50 years between 1936 and 1986.
He was the Defense Minister of India during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.
He was also the Deputy Prime Minister of the nation between 1977 and 1979.
DRDO develops advanced chaff technology
DRDO has advanced an progressive chaff technology to protect naval ships against enemy missile attack.
The DRDO laboratory, Defense Laboratory Jodhpur (DLJ), has developed three variants of this important technology to meet the qualitative requirements of the Indian Navy.
These are short range chaff rockets (SRCR), medium-range chaf rockets (MRCR) and long range chaff rockets (LRCR).
Characha will be held on 7 April
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that his annual interaction with the students ‘Examination on Characha’ will take place in a new format on 7 April.
More than 10 lakh students have registered for the program.
The first edition of the Prime Minister’s ‘Examination on Characha 1.0’ interaction program with school and college students was held on 16 February 2018 at Talkatora Stadium.
India, UAE, Israeli trade may reach $ 110 bn
The trilateral trade of India, Israel and UAE could reach US $ 110 billion by 2030.

Adani to acquire stake in Krishnapatnam port
Adani Ports has signed an agreement with Vishwa Samudra Holdings Private Limited to acquire a 25% stake of Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited (Krishnapatnam Port) for Rs 2,800 crore.
The company already has a 75% stake in the port.
Krishnapatnam Port is engaged in the business of handling bulk cargo including container, coal, breakbulk and liquid cargo.
Infosys Touches ₹ 6 Trillion in Market Cap
Infosys Limited became the fourth Indian firm to reach ₹ 6 trillion in market capitalization on 5 April 2021, after increasing its shares by more than 150% in the last one year.
With a market cap of ₹ 6.05 trillion on the BSE, the shares touched an all-time high of ₹ 1,420.
Earlier, Reliance Industries Limited, Tata Consultancy Services Limited and HDFC Bank Limited have achieved this feat.
Market for rental furniture worth Rs 33,500 crore
With a preferred company like Rentomajo, Farlenko, Rentikel and CityFurnish, India’s rental furniture and equipment market is now valued at Rs 33,500 crore.
According to figures from Redseer, the top 20 cities account for 55% of the total eligible market.

India’s manufacturing PMI declines
The Nikkei Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), compiled by IHS Market, fell to a seven-month low of 55.4 in February 2021 from 57.5 in February.
Readings above 50 on the index indicate growth, and readings below 50 indicate contraction.
In March 2021, the prices of both input and output increased at a slow pace.
A soldier starts ultra-marathon
An Indian Army soldier has started the Kanyakumari Ultra-Marathon from Kashmir to make it to the Guinness Book of World Records.
Ultramarathon runner Naik N.A. Velu P, trying to make the Guinness Book of World Records by running from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
He will run 70-100 km per day and cover a distance of 4300 km in less than 50 days.
Five-day Tulip festival begins in Srinagar
The Jammu and Kashmir government is organizing a five-day Tulip festival in Srinagar from 3 April 2021.
The festival is being organized by the Floriculture Department in collaboration with the Department of Tourism.
A number of activities are being organized during the festival including cultural programs and musical evenings.
120 more coaches to be added to Delhi Metro trains
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is adding 120 more coaches to convert the remaining 6 coach trains on the red, blue and yellow lines into 8 coach trains.
Subsequently, all trains running on these lines will be 8-coach.
This is being done to increase the carrying capacity of these three main corridors of the Delhi Metro, which contribute to about 40 to 50 per cent of passenger usage every day.
Increase in salary of sanitation workers
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced an increase in the salary of sanitation workers in both rural and urban areas in the state.
The monthly salary of sanitation workers will be Rs 12,500 to 14,000 per month in rural areas and Rs 15,000 to 16,000 in urban areas.
If salary is delayed then Rs 500 will be given as additional compensation.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister started public awareness campaign
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has launched a public awareness campaign against Corona.
He visited various places in Bhopal on 5 April 2021 and appealed to the people to wear masks and follow proper behavior.
District collectors are encouraging slogans like ‘No mask if not goods’ to increase the use of face masks among consumers and shopkeepers.
Uttar Pradesh government launched unique gift scheme
The Uttar Pradesh government has hurled a unique gift outline to promote COVID vaccination in the state.
On World Health Day on 7 April 2021, the state government will organize a lucky draw for those vaccinated.
Whereas, more than 25,000 beneficiaries, who have taken both doses of the vaccine, will be eligible for this gift scheme.
The beneficiaries will be given 4 gifts after the lucky draw.
