Pfizer jab reduces COVID infection risk by up to 90%

Pfizer Inc. and Moderna Inc.’s COVID-19 vaccines not only prevent disease, but also effectively prevent coronovirus infection (clearly seen with adequate protection two weeks after the first dose).

According to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Study, two doses of vaccines provide 90% protection against infection.

Vaccines also prevent hospitalization and deaths.

 

Johnson and Johnson will deliver COVID vaccine to Europe

Johnson and Johnson will start giving their single-vaccine COVID vaccine in Europe from April 19, 2021.

The jab was approved by EU supporters in March 2021 following the approval of vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNotech, Moderna and AstraZeneca.

The 27-country EU has signed an option for 200 million J&J doses and 200 million more.

 

Canada prohibits AstraZeneca vaccine for under 55

Canada has suspended the use of the Oxford-AstraAnica coronavirus vaccine for people under age 55, following fears that it may be associated with rare blood clots.

The suspension was recommended by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization for safety reasons.

The risk of blood clots is now potentially one in 100,000, previously thought to be one in a million.

 

Ripple will take 40% stake in Trunglow

The crypto firm Ripple Labs Inc. is planning to take a 40% stake in Asian cross-border payment specialist Trunglow.

The tie-up will help meet the demand for the use of Ripple’s related token XPR in transactions.

Tranglo is based in Malaysia and has done more than 20 million transactions worth $ 4 billion since its inception.


Volvo Car will give six months of paid parental leave

Volvo Cars will give its 40,000 employees the right to six months of paid-parental leave worldwide to increase gender equality.

By 1 April 2021, staffs employed for a car producer for at least one year will be entitled to 80 percent of their salary benefits.

Employees can take holidays whenever they want during the first three years after the birth of their child.

 

Puma ties up with RC Bangalore

Global sports brand Puma has signed a three-year partnership with Royal Challengers Bangalore, the team franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Puma will be the team’s official kit participant in the upcoming 14th edition of the tournament, starting on 9 April 2021.

Puma is also the only global sports brand to be associated with IPL 2021.


Adani Transmission Reaches ₹ 1 Trillion in Market Capitalization

On 30 March 2021, Adani Transmission Limited reached ₹ 1 trillion in market capitalization.

Adani Transmission shares touched an all-time high of Rs 924 on the BSE, taking its market capitalization to ₹ 1.01 trillion.

Adani Transmission Limited is the fifth Adani Group company to touch ₹ 1 trillion market cap, after Adani Green Energy Limited, Adani Total Gas Limited and Adani Ports.

 

Cognizant launched a program

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp has launched a 12-week paid ‘returnship program’ for technology professionals looking to resume their careers after a break.

The program focuses on providing returners with a supportive environment and access to training, regeneration, mentoring, and other resources.

These professionals will work with state-of-the-art technology through the program.

 

Digital artwork by a robot sold for $ 688,888

Humanoid robot Sophia, which was created by Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics, has sold its own artwork for $ 688,888.

The artwork was sold through the crypto art platform Nifty Gateway and is the first example of NXT (non-fungible token) art being created by an artificial intelligence (AI).

The artwork is titled Sophia Instantiation.

 

The government received several EoIs

The administration has conventional several expressions of interest (EoI) for the privatization of Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL).

Previously, the government had invited bids to privatize NINL, which had 93.7 per cent stake in four central public sector enterprises, including Mineral and Metals Trading Corporation Limited and two Odisha government PSUs.

 

DAMU organized an awareness program

In Kashmir, the District Agro-Meteorological Unit (DAMU), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kupwara organized an awareness program for farmers on 29 March 2021 under the Rural Agricultural Weather Service (GKMS).

It was conducted on the role of weather and climate in agricultural production.

On the time, 130 farmers from dissimilar blocks of the district were registered on the Kisan Portal to receive SMS on Agromet Advisory.


19 posts to be created in J & KWRRA

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Administrative Council has approved the proposal to create 19 posts to enhance the efficacy of the Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources Regulatory Authority (J & KWRRA) of the Department of Water Power.

J & KWRRA is accountable for adaptable water resources within the territorial jurisdiction of J & K, ensuring sustainable management of these resources, and fixing rates for water use.

 

VVPAT machines to be installed in Tamil Nadu

VVPAT machines will be installed in all polling stations in Tamil Nadu.

1,55,102 electronic voting machines 1,14,205 control units and 1,20,807 VVPATS will be installed in the state.

89,195 government employees on voting duty will exercise their franchise through postal ballots.

A report will also be submitted to the Election Commission.


Training in Disaster Response under NDMA

In Jammu and Kashmir, the district administration is taking measures for the training of the disaster friend in Ramban district.

This is being done to provide training to community volunteers in disaster response under the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Ramban has been notified as a training institute under the Disaster Mitra Scheme.


50 lakh beneficiaries of vaccination: Maharashtra

Maharashtra has become the first state in the country to surpass the achievement of 50 lakh beneficiaries in COVID 19 vaccination.

According to the total data so far, 52 lakh 35 thousand 646 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the state.

About 7 lakh 21 thousand recipients have also occupied the second dose, taking the total dose to more than 59.5 lakh.
