Biden invites 40 leaders to climate conference

US President Joe Biden invited 40 world leaders to a virtual leaders’ conference on climate to be held in April 2021.

The two-day conference will be held from 22 to 23 April 2021.

He has invited 40 leaders of the conference like Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin etc.

From South East Asia, he has invited – including PM Modi, Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina, among others.


IPL 2021: Cornitos joins Delhi Capital

The Indian Premier League (IPL) team franchise Delhi Capital has announced that Nachos brand Cornitos will join the upcoming edition of the IPL as one of its official partners.

The Cornitos logo will be displayed on the team’s official sports and training jerseys.

Manufactured by GreenDot Health Foods Pvt Ltd, the Cornitos brand includes Nacho Crisps, Roasted Nuts, etc.


Mahindra appointed Aneesh Shah as MD, CEO

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited has announced the appointment of Aneesh Shah as Managing Director and Chief Executive, effective April 2, 2021.

Shah will oversee the operations of all Mahindra Group companies and will replace Pawan Goenka.

He is currently serving as the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Mahindra.


ISRO revised launch program of GISAT-1

ISRO has modified the launch program of the geo-imaging satellite GISAT-1 on GSLV-F10 rocket after a minor problem in the spacecraft.

It was former observing to unveiling the satellite on March 28, 2021.

Deliberation round 2,268 kg, the GISAT-1 is the first state-of-the-art nimble earth remark satellite to be delivered by GSLV-F10 to the geosynchronous transfer orbit.


JSW Steel plans to achieve 45 MTPA capacity

Honda will sell British car plant to Pantoni

Honda has decided to wholesale its only British car plant in Swindon, southern England to Giant Logistics Pantoni.

The decision was made two years after the Japanese automaker, which produces one-tenth of 1.5 million car production in the UK, announced its intention to cease production at its Swindon plant in 2019.

The conclusion of the plant is predictable to result in the damage of 3,500 jobs.

Indigrid completes acquisition of a project

India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) has completed the acquisition of 830 circuit km power transmission project in the Northeast at an enterprise value of ₹ 4,625 crore from Sterlite Power.

The NER-II Transmission Limited project is spread across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura.

After the deal is completed, IndieGrid’s assets under project management will increase to $ 2.8 billion.


Gorakhpur-Lucknow flight will be flagged off

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off the flight service from Gorakhpur to Lucknow on 28 March 2021.

With this new flight service to Gorakhpur, the number of flights will increase to 12 for seven major cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Prayagraj.

He will also lay the foundation stone for the expansion of the terminal building of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Airport.


Projects being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir

In Jammu and Kashmir, about 54 developmental projects are being implemented at a cost of Rs 58,627 crore.

Madhya Pradesh put lockdown on 5 more cities on Sunday

The Madhya Pradesh administration has definite to enact a lockdown on Sunday in the cities of Vidisha, Ujjain, Gwalior, Narsinghpur and Sonsar.

Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Betul, Chhindwara, Ratlam and Khargone already have lockdowns on Sunday.

On 26 March 2021, Madhya Pradesh registered 2,091 new positive cases.

COVID cases in the state have doubled in the last few days.

Indian team won gold medal in 50 meter rifle event

In shooting, the Indian trio of Neeraj Kumar, Swapnil Kusale and Chan Singh won the gold medal in the men’s team event in the 50-meter rifle 3 position at the ISSF World Cup in Delhi on 26 March 2021.

The Indian squad beaten the United States 47-25 in the final.

This was India’s 12th gold medal in the competition at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.

India, Bangladesh making ‘Bangabandhu’ film

On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, India and Bangladesh are teaming up with famous film director Shyam Benegal to produce a film called Bangabandhu.

Bangladesh was the center country (Country in Focus) at the 51st International Film Festival of India in Goa in January 2021.

Films shown there include Jibandhuli, Meghamallar, Under Construction and Sincerly Yours.

India and America will pursue economic cooperation

India and the United States have agreed to pursue Indo-US economic cooperation and resolve pending heritage issues through mutual dialogue and discussion.

Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held a productive discussion with the US Trade Representative (USTR), Ambassador Catherine Tai on 26 March 2021.

They also agreed to strengthen the Indo-American Trade Policy Forum (TPF).
